Doc McStuffins is an animated pre-school children’s television series produced by Brown Bag Films. It was created and executive produced by Humanitas Prize and Emmy Award-winner Chris Nee and premiered on March 23, 2012 on Disney Channel and Disney Junior. The series is about a six-year-old girl who can “fix” toys, with a little help from her stuffed animal friends.
The series received positive reviews due to the show’s concept and the main character, on its portrayal about African-Americans in a Disney series. Chris Nee describes the series as “Cheers for Preschoolers”.
When Doug’s father, an Air Force Pilot, is shot down by MiGs belonging to a radical Middle Eastern state, no one seems able to get him out. Doug finds Chappy, an Air Force Colonel who is intrigued by the idea of sending in two fighters piloted by himself and Doug to rescue Doug’s father after bombing the MiG base.
