The visionary dreams of three curious and adventuresome young boys become an exciting reality in Explorers, the action-fantasy from director Joe Dante, who combines keen humor, warmth and fantasy with unexpected twists. In their makeshift laboratory, the boys use an amazing discovery and their ingenuity to build their own spaceship and launch themselves on a fantastic interplanetary journey.

Do directors have any sense? Are they employing teenagers to do the background sounds? This is NOT a Walt Disney Animation where one needs sounds because no one actually speaks in the movie! I felt like I was watching Fantasia! I can hardly make out the voices of the actors due to the racket of the sound track which really should be faint and in the background! This feature is pretty bad, but it’s not the only movie which has overbearing background “music”! When one watches movies made in the 50s, 60s, 70s even 80s at least we can hear the spoken words! Now if not for the “realistic” traffic noises in a street/outdoor scene where there is indistinguishable dialogue, the majority of the presentation is drowned in excessively loud music! OK, I am not a young kid with perfect hearing, but I am not deaf! As for the movie, very predictable.

Young Raj Malhotra (Akshay Kumar) lives with his elder brother, Rohit; his sister-in-law Kiran, and a niece. After an accident fractures his leg, he is unable to walk for some time. Due to psychological reasons, he cannot walk even after the fracture heals. When the Malhotras move to Dehra Dun, Raj befriends young Kajal (Dutta), as both share a common passion for airplanes. Kajal encourages Raj to walk, and succeeds. Years later the two continue to be fast friends, and everyone expects them to marry soon. Then Raj is recruited by the Indian Air Force and goes for training for a year and a half. After his training gets over, he rushes to Kajal to propose to her, only to find out that she has given her heart to a multimillionaire, Karan Singhania (Verma), who owns several airplanes and choppers. Raj congratulates Kajal and Karan, but does not reveal his true feelings.
