The Real McCoys is an American situation comedy co-produced by Danny Thomas’ “Marterto Productions”, in association with Walter Brennan and Irving Pincus’ “Westgate” company. The series aired for five seasons on the ABC-TV network from 1957 through 1962 and then for its final year on CBS from 1962 to 1963.

The series, set in the San Fernando Valley of California, was filmed in Hollywood at Desilu studios.

A fifth series of eight episodes, significantly shorter than previous series, began on 5 January 2013 and ended on 23 February 2013.

Linda La Hughes (Kathy Burke) shares a flat with Tom Farrell (James Dreyfus). Linda is overweight, loudmouthed and not particularly attractive. She thinks she’s gorgeous and irrestible, however. Antonia Thomas, Iwan Rheon, Lauren Socha, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, and Robert Sheehan are introduced as Alisha Daniels, Simon Bellamy, Kelly Bailey, Curtis Donovan, and Nathan Young respectively. Both brothers were already well-known from the sketch comedy show In Living Color that was aired from 1990 to 1994 on Fox. The series also starred John Witherspoon and Anna Maria Horsford.
